B-Ibiza and Sustainability

Our Commitment

B-Ibiza is a brand rooted in purpose; we deeply care about our guests, employees, suppliers, and the communities and environments we interact with. Our core mission has always been to nurture the well-being of people, society, and the planet.

Our Philosophy

The challenges facing our world are numerous. At B-Ibiza, we strive to be committed to the principles of sustainable development, aiming to leave a better world for future generations. This striving for commitment has been integral to our identity since the opening of our first property and continues to drive the success of our enterprise. By encouraging a mutually beneficial relationship with local communities and our surroundings, B-Ibiza seamlessly integrates into the cultures of our environments.

Sustainability in Action

Our approach to sustainability involves the collective expertise of our teams across all properties, guided by the desire to adhere to four key pillars—local heritage, local culture, environmental protection, and social responsibility—doing what we can to align with the standards set by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). B-Ibiza strives to build its comprehensive sustainability strategy as in line with the foundation provided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) as possible.

A good example of sustainability in action is at our Can Bonita residence, which has an impressive natural drinking water production system using an overnight condensation process, and the gardens are irrigated with harvested rainwater.

Social Responsibility Initiatives:

  • Gender Equality and Diversity: We strive to champion gender equality while honouring local cultures and promoting diversity where we can.
  • Child Protection: We maintain stringent policies regarding child protection among our suppliers.
  • Health and Nutrition: Our properties encourage the prioritisation of healthy, sustainable, and organic food options for guests and staff and contribute to the healthcare of local communities. Please enquire for any further assistance with this.
  • Support for Local Economies: We strive to prioritise hiring local workers when possible, and support local agriculture in our culinary endeavours, ensuring the purchase of fair trade, cage-free, and free-range products wherever possible.

Cultural Integration:

  • Preservation of Traditions: Our properties actively support local artisans by purchasing their crafts and encouraging guests to engage with indigenous traditions.
  • Local Cuisine: We celebrate local culinary practices by offering cooking focused on regional dishes and encouraging and involving guests in selecting produce directly from local producers.

Environmental Protection Efforts:

  • Ecosystem Conservation: We engage in activities like tree planting, renewable energy creation and storage, and initiating clean woodland and beach projects.
  • Sustainable Practices: Our efforts include comprehensive waste management, food waste composting, water conservation through efficient fixtures, and enhancing energy efficiency with LED lighting across all properties.
  • Reducing Plastics: We are committed to eliminating single-use plastics across all our locations.

Local Engagement:

Each of our properties aspires to deep integration into its local environment, striving to support and help sustain local communities through economic and cultural engagement.
